To be together!
This is the way we share our experience of war, our resistance and this is our way to THE Victory!
War is an unambiguous concept.
Like an eraser it wipes out everything that was important before. Everything you were thinking about before going to bed yesterday. Everything you worried about. Everything you dreamed of. It wipes out all boundaries by sex, gender, preferences and faith. The war outlines a new contour. There is a sketch of yourself, of your loved ones and your own understanding of humanity. There are no more professional frameworks. But there are ways to protect yourself.
The series of works “Together” is a reaction to the attempt to destroy you and people around you, your loved ones and strangers, who instantly become so close to you – these are 15 answers to the question: HOW ARE YOU?
Each of the paintings symbolizes a city of Ukraine, which in one way or another has been severely damaged by the Russian invaders: Steadfast Kyiv, Native Lviv, Bleeding Bucha, Resentful Kherson. All these recent months these cities follow the only principle: Hold on tight! Together!
The images of cities are transmitted through human emotions and embodied in sacralized canvases, in a special way imprinted for future generations by modern art…
The presence of a child or an animal in the entire series is a hope for the future…. And the signs and dreams of childhood acquire threatening features. Victory has its own face, the face of Faith, Hope and Love!
